Biography
Dr. Brian J. Flynn is a Professor of Surgery/Urology at the University of Colorado and the founder of its Functional and Reconstructive Urology (FRU) program. For over two decades, he has been the driving force in defining and popularizing the integrated field of FRU, specializing in male/female incontinence, stricture disease, and complex robotic reconstruction. He is board-certified in Urology, Urogynecology, and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS).
A nationally recognized innovator, Dr. Flynn developed pioneering procedures for ProACT™ and was thefirst to use buccal mucosa for robotic bladder neck reconstruction. He has performed over 800 robotic reconstructive cases. His commitment to advancing FRU is demonstrated through over 100 peer-reviewed publications, extensive multimedia content, and his co-founding of the innovative Integrating Functional Reconstructive Urology and Endourology (IFRUE) meeting in 2025 with Dr. Fernando Kim. Dr. Flynn has served on the Ralph E. Hopkins Urology Seminar at Jackson Hole program committee since 2018 and as a critique panel member more than ten times.
