Biography
Dr. Mohit Khera is a distinguished leader in the fields of Sexual Medicine and Men’s Health. He is currently a Professor in the Scott Department of Urology at Baylor College of Medicine, where he holds the prestigious F. Brantley Scott Chair in Urology. Dr. Khera serves as the Director of the Laboratory for Andrology Research, the Medical Director of the Scott Department of Urology, and the Associate Program Director of the Baylor Infertility and Sexual Medicine Fellowship Program. Additionally, he is the past president of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America.
Dr. Khera earned his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University. He went on to complete a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Public Health at Boston University. He received his Medical Degree from The University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio and pursued his residency in Urology at the Scott Department of Urology at Baylor College of Medicine. During his time at Baylor, he completed a one-year general surgery internship, followed by a five-year residency in Urology. After residency, Dr. Khera further specialized with a one-year fellowship in Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at Baylor.
In the realm of research, Dr. Khera has made significant contributions to both basic science and clinical medicine. He has initiated numerous FDA-approved clinical trials and has shared his expertise by delivering over 400 lectures at scientific meetings worldwide. His academic accomplishments include publishing more than 180 articles in peer-reviewed journals, authoring 15 book chapters, and editing or writing two books focused on Sexual Medicine and Men’s Health.
Dr. Khera’s influence extends to shaping national guidelines. He served as a panel member for the American Urological Association (AUA) Erectile Dysfunction Guidelines and the Peyronie’s Disease Guidelines. He is also the Associate Editor for both Urology Practice and the Journal of Urology Urologic Survey.
In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Khera is committed to public education and outreach. He has been recognized multiple times as one of Houston’s Best Doctors by Health and Sport Fitness Magazine and Houstonia Magazine. A frequent media contributor, he has appeared on television programs such as Fox News’ Ask the Doctor and featured on popular podcasts including The Dr. Gabrielle Lyon Show, The Megyn Kelly Show, The Drive with Peter Attia, and Diary of a CEO with Steven Bartlett.
